Our Hybrid Phlebotomy Course combines the flexibility of online learning with the confidence of hands-on practice. You’ll build a strong foundation in anatomy, safety, and lab skills at your own pace (within the first 4 weeks), then sharpen your technique in the skills lab under the guidance of a certified instructor (during the last 3 weeks).

HYBRID PHLEBOTOMY COURSE
Our Hybrid Phlebotomy Course gives you the knowledge and hands-on training needed to confidently begin a career in healthcare.
The online portion helps you build a strong foundation in:

Human anatomy and the circulatory system

The role of the clinical laboratory
-
Safety, infection control, and personal protection
-
Proper techniques for collecting blood safely and professionally
After completing the online learning, students move into the 3 week in-person skills lab, where you’ll practice venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques directly with classmates under the guidance of a Certified Phlebotomy Instructor (ACA). Next is a CPR lab.
We currently offer two schedule options in Sulphur:

Tuesdays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Day Class)

Tuesdays, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Evening Class)
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements must be met for successful completion of the Phlebotomy Technician Program:
- 4 Weeks of Online Lectures with homework and practice required (first 4 weeks)
- 3 Weeks of Lab Classroom Hours of Peer Phlebotomy technique practice (last 3 weeks)
- Completion of all weekly homework assignments Score of 80% or above on all tests, quizzes and midterm & Exit Exam Full and Complete knowledge of all information on the Draw Chart.
CLASS INFORMATION
Hybrid Classes are held several times a year, only 12 students per class time allowing more hands on education. For now the classes are held on on Tuesdays 10a-1p and again from 6p-9p.
4 Weeks of your course are online lectures and at home technique practicing with a venipuncture practice pad. The next 3 weeks are In-Person with instruction and skills lab practice with peers.
